Job Specific Competencies

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Cook up care throughout patient visit (lab, ekg, radiology).
  • Maintain ability to quickly assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Answer phone calls courteously, and take clear and concise phone messages.
  • Monitor and respond to all emails throughout the day regarding incoming patient referrals.
  • Organize surgical dates, schedule and confirm appointments daily.
  • Accurately register all patients including insurance verification.
  • Obtain Letters of Protection (LOP’s) from attorneys when necessary.
  • Create new patient consent packets and charts.
  • Prepare charts/transportation list for the next day.
  • Maintain order and deliver charts to medical records timely.
  • Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by physicians.
  • Complies To All Job Functions Within Required Time Frames.
  • Send fax requests for outside records.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma, college degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting in the Registration/Admission Department preferred.

Credentials & Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Insurance and Insurance Verification Process.
  • Knowledge of EMR, CareVue, MediTech.
