Job Specific Competencies
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Cook up care throughout patient visit (lab, ekg, radiology).
- Maintain ability to quickly assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Answer phone calls courteously, and take clear and concise phone messages.
- Monitor and respond to all emails throughout the day regarding incoming patient referrals.
- Organize surgical dates, schedule and confirm appointments daily.
- Accurately register all patients including insurance verification.
- Obtain Letters of Protection (LOP’s) from attorneys when necessary.
- Create new patient consent packets and charts.
- Prepare charts/transportation list for the next day.
- Maintain order and deliver charts to medical records timely.
- Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by physicians.
- Complies To All Job Functions Within Required Time Frames.
- Send fax requests for outside records.
Education & Experience Requirements
- H.S. Diploma, college degree in related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting in the Registration/Admission Department preferred.
Credentials & Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills.
- Knowledge of Insurance and Insurance Verification Process.
- Knowledge of EMR, CareVue, MediTech.
