Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy services utilizing a structured brief therapy approach consistent with a managed care environment. Maintain appropriate and timely treatment and documentation. Responsive to requirements of managed care and payer sources for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts diagnostic evaluation and documents assessment in medical record.
  • Confers diagnosis as appropriate.
  • Develops an individualized treatment plan of care.
  • Collaborates with patient, family, and other colleagues to develop a treatment plan of care.
  • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.
  • Maintains required, appropriate, and timely communication and correspondence with treatment authorization and payer sources in a manner which promotes efficient and effective delivery of clinical services.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in conducting individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
  • Provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
  • Utilizes a brief, structured therapy approach maintaining a productivity level.
  • Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships.
  • Promotes open and effective lines of communication with all active and potential customers.
  • Demonstrates a positive approach in the development, promotion, and implementation of customer service and clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Interacts in a positive and facilitative manner with all internal and external customers.
  • Meets or exceeds Fairview, Fairview-University Medical Center, department, managed care, and payer-related quality assurance and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Maintains complete medical records.
  • Ensures legible documentation.
  • Complies with Fairview Behavioral Services and Counseling policies and standards for inclusion of required documentation.
  • Observes all applicable timelines.
  • Completes required processes for client registration.
  • Initiates and maintains in a timely manner required processes for treatment authorization and billing.
  • Completes in a timely and accurate manner required processes for discharge including billing, clinical, and medical records requirements.
  • Accepts direction from Clinic Supervisor.
  • Accepts delegation of assignments.
  • Responds positively to supervision and constructive feedback.
  • Supports a positive work environment.
  • Maintains technical and practical knowledge essential to job functions.
  • Accesses educational resources and attends internal and external educational offerings relevant to development and maintenance of clinical skill base.
  • Conducts supervision for graduate-level students and trainees.

Requirements

  • M.A./M.S. in psychology or social work
  • Licensed Psychologist or
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in outpatient setting working with managed care utilizing a structured brief therapy approach
  • Ability to provide supervision to post-graduate trainees
