About the role

Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy services utilizing a structured brief therapy approach consistent with a managed care environment. Maintain appropriate and timely treatment and documentation. Be responsive to requirements of managed care and payer sources for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic evaluation and document assessment in medical record.
  • Confer diagnosis as appropriate.
  • Develop an individualized treatment plan of care.
  • Collaborate with patient, family, and other colleagues to develop a treatment plan of care.
  • Develop an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.
  • Maintain required, appropriate, and timely communication and correspondence with treatment authorization and payer sources to promote efficient and effective delivery of clinical services.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence in conducting individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy using a brief, structured therapy approach while maintaining productivity.
  • Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships.
  • Promote open and effective lines of communication with all active and potential customers.
  • Demonstrate a positive approach in the development, promotion, and implementation of customer service and clinical quality improvement initiatives.
  • Interact in a positive and facilitative manner with all internal and external customers.
  • Meet or exceed quality assurance and customer satisfaction standards related to Fairview, Fairview-University Medical Center, department, managed care, and payer requirements.
  • Maintain complete and legible medical records in compliance with Fairview Behavioral Services and Counseling policies and standards.
  • Observe all applicable timelines for documentation and processes.
  • Complete required processes for client registration, treatment authorization, and billing in a timely manner.
  • Complete discharge processes accurately and timely, including billing and clinical and medical records requirements.
  • Accept direction from Clinic Supervisor and respond positively to supervision and constructive feedback.
  • Support a positive work environment.
  • Maintain technical and practical knowledge essential to job functions.
  • Access educational resources and attend internal and external educational offerings relevant to clinical skill development and maintenance.
  • Conduct supervision for graduate-level students and trainees.

Requirements

  • M.A./M.S. in psychology or social work.
  • Licensed as one of the following in Minnesota:
    • Psychologist, or
    • Marriage and Family Therapist, or
    • Professional Clinical Counselor, or
    • Independent Clinical Social Worker.
  • Licensed Graduate in Social Work may be considered under certain circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in an outpatient setting working with managed care utilizing a structured brief therapy approach.
  • Ability to provide supervision to post-graduate trainees.
