About the role
The Outlet Processor position at MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries supports the mission of "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!" by handling donations, sorting goods, and providing customer service.Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Handles all donations with care and respect.
- Tips donations into bins and sorts goods into categories.
- Inspects donated goods and removes potentially harmful items for safety and high-quality items for online sales.
- Maintains high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
- Efficiently and safely transports bins to and from the sales floor.
- Straightens, rotates, and maintains the cleanliness of the store, including the sales floor, warehouse, and donation dock, adhering to Goodwill Retail Procedures.
- Provides positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assistance, and thanks, to in-person customers, donors, and those over the phone.
- Reads and follows all operational procedures and agency employee handbook policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft.
- Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
- Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
