About the Role

This part-time, seasonal Outdoor Activity Guide position is located at Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, New York, and will be available until November 30, 2026. Reporting to the Silo Ridge Director of Vibe, the role focuses on professional wildlife management and creating memorable experiences for members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of activities associated with wildlife management, including habitat development and maintenance.
• Schedule and guide hunts, fishing excursions, archery, 3D target shooting, and paintball.
• Lead birding, foraging, biking, and hiking activities with members and guests.
• Assist in the operation of the Dog Kennel, including walking, training, feeding, and stall maintenance.
• Maintain and repair equipment and buildings.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate on-the-job training for subordinates, covering equipment, policies, procedures, and techniques.
• Promote, teach, and assist with hunting and fishing safety education programs, including hunter safety training.
• Coordinate activities such as shooting, target shooting, archery, paintball, and ATV/UTV rentals.
• Monitor wildlife populations and assess the impacts of forest operations on habitats.
• Perform trail upkeep within and outside the forest.
• Manage wildlife fields for hunting, food plots, and brooding.
• Develop areas for raising birds (e.g., pheasants).
• Create memorable experiences and have fun while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in wildlife or fisheries management, wildlife biology, or a related field; OR a minimum of five years of full-time experience as a Hunting Guide or Fishing Guide.
• Guest experience in hospitality is a plus.
• At least 21 years of age on the date of application.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Possess a valid and current motor vehicle operator’s license.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to work in a team environment and stay calm during busy periods.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing/walking/moving for over eight hours, and lifting/carrying items exceeding 50 pounds.

Pay

$24.00 - $26.00 USD per hour.
