About the Role
The Outdoor Adventure Director oversees the safety and efficiency of the Outdoor Adventure Program and manages the OA Staff. This is a seasonal position running from May 24, 2026, to August 15, 2026, and requires living, eating, and serving on-site to model the values of Camp Lurecrest Ministries.
Responsibilities
- Train and manage the outdoor adventure team
- Oversee all aspects of high and low elements, including:
- High Elements: Climbing Wall, Leap of Faith, Giant’s Ladder, Zip Line, Crate Stack, and Vertical Playpen
- Low Elements: Team-building and problem-solving challenges
- Understand and execute safety protocols for Camp Lurecrest
- Respond with grace in high-stress situations
- Teach and invest in campers while maintaining attentiveness to their experience and overall safety
Requirements
- Must be at least one year out of high school with relevant experience
- Professing Christian committed to following the mission and vision of Camp Lurecrest Ministries
- First Aid & CPR certification required (opportunity for certification during CLM Orientation)
- Formal training and certifications in high ropes course management
- Formal training and certifications in low ropes and initiatives facilitation
- Able to work on your feet, be outside all day, lift up to 50 lbs, and walk up to 5 miles in a day
- Signed agreement to the CLM Summer Staff Handbook
- Successful completion of CLM Orientation Training Program
Qualifications
- Membership in the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) desired (can be provided through the camp’s membership)
- Lifeguard and Waterfront certification preferred
