About the role

This position focuses on material handling with an emphasis on picking customer orders, loading and unloading semi-trailers, and other inventory-related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently identify the location of parts in the Parts Distribution Center (PDC), pick the quantity of each part as reflected on customer order lines, complete order paperwork, and prepare and pack products for shipment.
  • Load trailers by hand or using powered forklifts, carts, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders.
  • Attend scheduled work hours regularly and maintain good attendance.
  • Work mandatory overtime when required and contribute to team efforts to produce a quality product.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and digital methods (e.g., email, text messages) in a professional manner within company policy.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, counting, movement, and organization of materials as part of warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse team members to complete assigned tasks.
  • Conduct cycle and physical counting of materials as assigned.
  • Accurately document all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Use computer systems to access information and process paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Perform all assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to company policy and under limited supervision.
  • Move and transfer products between warehouse sections to maintain organization and housekeeping.
  • Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment without damaging materials or risking injury to others.
  • Follow all warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Read and interpret warehouse documents such as customer orders, picklists, bills of lading, packing slips, inventory reports, emails, SOPs, and memos.
  • Perform cycle counting of inventory and product loading/unloading tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain acceptable performance levels as defined by warehouse management.
  • Unload, stack, move, and place products in designated areas.
  • Perform daily equipment checks as required.
  • Ensure the safety of others working near moving vehicles and report unsafe conditions or acts immediately.
  • Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations and wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Load and unload materials from trailers and trucks according to SOPs and common practices.
  • Operate tools and machines essential to the job, including forklifts, hand jacks, computers, loading docks, cranes, scales, data collection equipment, and radios.
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Forklift certification.
  • Basic math skills (accurate counting).
  • Data entry and communication skills.
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training.

Training

  • Orientation.
  • Forklift training.
