About the role
The Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee is seeking a full-time Out of School Time (OST) Youth Development Program Manager to join their dynamic team. This position offers a competitive salary of $50,000 - $52,000/year, along with comprehensive benefits including health, disability, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% match.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily youth programs
- Coordinate programs' activities to promote development in areas such as the arts, technology, physical education, and social recreation
- Implement fun activities like monthly birthday celebrations and Fun Fact Fridays
- Strategically assign staff members to lead programs based on their interests and skills
- Assist with the interviewing and hiring process
- Ensure staff have the proper licenses and follow safety policies
- Conduct regular staff checks and monitor performance metrics
- Measure program success and use data to improve future activities
- Ensure the safety of members and staff at all times
- Attend regular training to stay updated on best practices
Qualifications
- 21+ years old
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Associate degree OR 3+ years of combined education, training, and experience in a nonprofit organization involved in youth development or secondary education
- 1+ year of supervised work experience or one practicum OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with youth aged 5 - 18
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to comply with company policy regarding background checks
Work schedule
This position typically works Monday - Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a one-hour paid lunch break.
