OTR Driver (CDL-A)

About the Role

This driver role is an over-the-road position, responsible for operating commercial motor vehicle tractors and trailers in compliance with FMCSA regulations to transport goods on public highways and company property. Team members are also responsible for moving, stacking, and unloading all forms of C.H.I. doors and products at their destinations, including C.H.I. service centers and dealer locations. This is a physically demanding position which will involve lifting 80+ pounds in a unique trailer environment. This could include using forklifts, jacks, carts, racks, pallets, moving boxes, packages, or other support components. All runs originate and terminate in Arthur, Illinois, so residing in the area is ideal, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
• Operate commercial motor vehicle tractors and trailers in compliance with FMCSA regulations
• Transport goods on public highways and company property
• Move, stack, and unload all forms of C.H.I. doors and products at destinations including service centers and dealer locations
• Lift 80+ pounds in a unique trailer environment
• Use forklifts, jacks, carts, racks, pallets, moving boxes, packages, or other support components as needed

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid CDL-A license
• Possess a valid DOT Medical Card or be eligible to receive one prior to hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable CDL-A driving history
• Possess a valid Passport

Pay

• First-year drivers earn a minimum of $100,000
• Drivers' pay is dependent upon varying factors such as mileage, stops, etc.

• Profit-Sharing: 10% of Nucor's pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings. Eligible earnings include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.
