OTR CDL A Driver

About the role

Our over-the-road drivers operate a truck transporting product to and from specified destinations. Drivers prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. They load, secure, and unload cargo as needed, maintain contact with dispatch, and follow all DOT guidelines according to federal and state regulations. Drivers are responsible for daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Responsibilities

• Operates company-owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
• Delivers and picks up goods based on schedule set forth by dispatch
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and provides required reports
• Provides professional customer service during delivery and pick-up operations
• Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
• Maintains and protects all company property in excellent working condition
• Uses real-time ELD (Electronic Logging Device) as required
• Secures cargo as required
• Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary based on business needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a CDL A license
• At least 2 years of experience as a CDL A truck driver
• Flatbed experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be neat, presentable, and represent the company in a professional manner
• Expected to be out several days per week, home most weekends, and sleep in a sleeper cab vehicle several nights per week
• Experience with live on-road training with a driver trainer
