About the Role
Participate in the rotating APP orthopedic practice with a flexible schedule and no call burden. Handle walk-in and scheduled visits in an ambulatory orthopedic urgent care setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluation and treatment of orthopedic urgent care consults, including obtaining patient history and performing physical exams.
- Order and review appropriate diagnostic studies and imaging.
- Confer with supervising orthopedic surgeon.
- Perform splinting, bracing, casting, and orthopedic injections/aspirations in outpatient clinic settings.
Requirements
- Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
- Approved to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required (expiration date must be greater than 90 days from start date).
- Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
