About the role

Become part of a dynamic team dedicated to improving orthopedic care in the Rio Grande Valley. As a Hip & Joint Surgeon, you’ll work within a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge technology, including da Vinci robotic systems, Brainlab computer navigation, and an AIRO mobile intraoperative CT.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hip and joint surgeries
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Teach and mentor residents and fellows
  • Participate in research and clinical trials
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the department’s surgical protocols

Requirements

  • Fellowship-trained in Hip & Joint reconstruction or extensive clinical experience
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Trauma Certification a plus

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Current license to practice medicine in the state of Texas
  • Passing scores on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX)

Pay

Competitive guaranteed base salary with productivity bonuses

Schedule

Flexible schedule: 2–3 days per week split between clinic and OR block time

Additional Information

  • Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • 70/30 inpatient/outpatient case mix
  • Estimated 3–5 call days per month, inclusive of general ortho call
  • Dedicated Ortho/Trauma floor at Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen
  • Ortho Trauma provider on staff, providing VBMC coverage
  • Office located in the Medical Office Building with walking-distance access to the hospital OR
  • Potential for privileges at sister facility in Brownsville
