About the Role

The Organization Development Executive (ODE) is a senior, client-facing transformation leader responsible for delivering the executive alignment and leadership behaviors required to achieve targeted business results. Serving fundamentally as an executive trainer, team builder, and leader of executive teams, the ODE engages directly with the C-suite—typically the CEO of a $1B+ business. This role extends far beyond traditional organizational development or executive coaching. The ODE builds strict consensus around the CEO's direction, identifies organizational and behavioral barriers, and translates enterprise objectives into clear executive accountabilities, metrics, priorities, and required behaviors. Through structured interviews, diagnostics, gap analyses, executive coaching, and team-development sessions, the ODE strengthens the executive team's ability to lead the transformation and sustain improved performance. Working alongside delivery and operations teams, the ODE develops and executes the organizational development account strategy. You will apply structured organizational frameworks and goal translation processes to ensure executive alignment seamlessly connects with operational implementation on the ground.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Alignment: Build strict consensus among the executive team around the CEO's strategic direction.
  • Diagnostics & Analysis: Conduct structured interviews, diagnostics, and gap analyses to identify organizational and behavioral barriers to business objectives.
  • Goal Translation: Translate enterprise objectives into clear executive accountabilities, metrics, priorities, and required behaviors.
  • Executive Coaching: Provide coaching and lead team-development sessions to strengthen the executive team's ability to lead transformation and sustain improved performance.
  • Strategy Execution: Partner with delivery managers and operations teams to develop and execute the organizational development account strategy, coordinated with the engagement master schedule and operating model.
  • Methodology Application: Apply structured organizational frameworks across the engagement to monitor individual and team progress.
  • Risk Mitigation: Manage resistance to change, track client sentiment throughout the engagement, escalate risks, and prepare executive-level materials reporting on barriers and mitigating actions.
  • Team Development: Coach engagement team members and lead front-line supervisory development.
  • Performance Management: Align performance expectations with the client's internal performance management processes.
  • Account Growth: Help position successful engagements for additional project work.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in organizational development, management consulting, or executive coaching, including direct experience leading large-scale organizational transformation.
  • Executive Presence: Demonstrated track record working directly with C-suite executives (specifically handling audiences of CEOs at $1B+ enterprises) on strategic alignment and behavior change.
  • Client Management: Experience managing client relationships in a consulting or professional services environment, including account strategy and engagement delivery.
  • Strategic Execution: Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into measurable accountabilities, metrics, and priorities.
  • Core Skills: Strong facilitation, diagnostic, and executive coaching skills, with excellent communication abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional coaching certification (e.g., ICF) is a plus.
  • Travel: Ability to travel weekly as required by client engagements, including frequent domestic and international travel.
