Organ Donation Coordinator I ICU Level RN

About the role

This position is for a Donation Coordinator responsible for responding on-site to organ donor referrals, providing clinical expertise in donor evaluation, management, organ allocation, and recovery. The role involves educating hospital staff, working with donor families for consent, and collaborating with surgical and critical care teams to optimize organ transplantation.

Responsibilities

• Responding to donor referrals and managing clinical assessments
• Educating hospital staff and donor families about the donation process
• Coordinating with surgical teams for organ recovery
• Providing on-site support and maintaining effective communication in high-pressure situations
• Participating in specialized training and orientation programs
• Traveling extensively throughout New England using personal vehicle with reimbursements

Requirements

• 3-5 years of critical care or trauma clinical experience
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel extensively
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and professional demeanor
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPTC certification a plus
• Must be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19

Schedule

Full-time night shifts (12-hour nights), with initial classroom and specialized training, followed by on-call shifts. The role requires flexibility, independence, and travel across New England.
