Ordnance Logistics HAZMAT Inspector/ Shipping Clerk III

About the Role

Assist the Weapons Department in day-to-day Ordnance operations at JEB Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA. Coordinate with supported commands to prepare required documentation for munitions movement in support of NSWG-2 and its component commands. Provide detailed technical advice and assistance for munitions transportation via all modes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare documentation to facilitate movement of munitions.
• Provide technical advice and assistance for munitions transportation via all modes.
• Use technical publications to determine shipment priorities and ensure familiarity with DD Form 2790 and DD Form 626.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years’ Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience within the past 3 years.
• AMMO-62 Technical Transportation of HAZMAT certification for shipping (preferred). If not certified, must complete the AMMO-62 HAZMAT Course at the earliest available opportunity (costs covered by the contracted company). Recertification is completed online at no cost; failure to pass may require company-funded travel for recertification.
• Documentation of previous Ordnance Qualification/Certification Board Membership.
• Must meet Lautenberg Amendment (Gun Control Act of 1968) requirements.
• Maintain a forklift license for up to 6,000lb capacity.
• Must meet requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles/CESE for official duties.
• Active SECRET clearance required.
