Ordnance Logistics HAZMAT Inspector/ Shipping Clerk III

About the role

Assist the Weapons Department in day-to-day Ordnance operations. Coordinates with supported commands and prepare required documentation to facilitate movement of munitions in support of NSWG-2 and its component commands.

Responsibilities

• Provides detailed technical advice and assistance pertaining to the movement of munitions via all modes of transportation.
• Use technical publications to facilitate shipment priorities and be familiar with DD Form 2790 and DD Form 626.

Qualifications

• Have in-depth knowledge and experience related to the duties of a shipping clerk garnered from at least a minimum of three (3) years’ Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience within the past 3 years.
• Have AMMO-62 Technical Transportation of HAZMAT certification for shipping (preferred). If not previously certified, employee must be prepared to complete the AMMO-62 HAZMAT Course upon soonest available opening.
• Documentation of previous Ordnance Qualification/Certification Board Member.
• Must meet Lautenberg Amendment (Gun Control Act of 1968) requirements.
• Maintain forklift license up to 6,000lb capacity.
• Must meet the requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for use in their official duties.
