Ordnance Logistics HAZMAT Inspector/ Shipping Clerk III

Location: JEB Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA. Clearance required: SECRET.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Weapons Department in day-to-day Ordnance operations.
• Coordinate with supported commands and prepare required documentation to facilitate movement of munitions in support of NSWG-2 and its component commands.
• Provide detailed technical advice and assistance pertaining to the movement of munitions via all modes of transportation.
• Use technical publications to facilitate shipment priorities and be familiar with DD Form 2790 and DD Form 626.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience within the past three years.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience related to the duties of a shipping clerk.
• AMMO‑62 Technical Transportation of HAZMAT certification for shipping (preferred). If not previously certified, must be prepared to complete the AMMO‑62 HAZMAT Course at the earliest available opening; costs and travel are at the expense of the contracted company.
• Recertification completed online at no cost; if online recertification is not passed, travel costs for AMMO‑62 HAZMAT recertification are paid by the contracted company.
• Documentation of previous Ordnance Qualification/Certification Board membership.
• Must meet Lautenberg Amendment (Gun Control Act of 1968) requirements.
• Maintain forklift license up to 6,000 lb capacity.
• Must meet requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for official duties.
