The Warehouse Specialist (HAZMAT) performs a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying materials, storing and stacking materials, preparing shipments, and maintaining stock records.

Responsibilities

• Verifies material and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Routes material and equipment to prescribed storage locations.
• Properly stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Rearranges as necessary and takes inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
• Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
• Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting, and supply reports.
• Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.
• May operate hand or power trucks in performance of warehousing duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
• Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

Working Environment

• Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
• Work may be conducted in an outside environment with exposure to high and low temperatures and humidity.
• Rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical activities include:

• Standing for long periods and walking short distances daily.
• Extended periods of sitting and communicating via email and telephone.
• Visual acuity necessary for computer work and data manipulation.
• Must wear Personal Protection Equipment such as face masks, steel or composite toe safety shoes, eye, ear, head, and hand wear.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and a minimum of 5 lbs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Operator License.
• Valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
• Ability to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.

Experience:

• Knowledge of warehousing storage layouts and basic warehousing functions.
• Understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Association (OSHA) Hazardous Material Regulations.
• Warehouse operations experience preferred.
• Experience working with or around hazardous materials preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and SharePoint preferred.
• One year of GCSS-Army and regulatory supply systems experience preferred.
• Forklift Operator experience preferred.
