Order Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY: The Order Clerk receives and processes incoming orders for materials and merchandise, duties include informing customers of receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays; preparing contracts; and handling complaints. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Completes order forms.Prepares invoices, shipping documents, and contracts.Receives and responds to customer complaints. Confers with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace shipments.Calculates and compiles order-related statistics and prepare reports for managementALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentPreferred Degree: Associate Degree in CommunicationYears of experience: Minimum 1 year in a clerical or customer service setting KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: Superior Customer Service SkillsOffice Suite applicationsAS400 experience a plusTeam player TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regular computer work and sittingOccasional walking and standingSeldom to never lifting up to 50lbs WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment within a manufacturing plant INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
