Order Address Change allows a logged-in customer to change the delivery or billing address of an order they have already placed, directly from the order page in their account. This feature streamlines the process by avoiding the need for emails, support replies, and manual edits.

Key Features

• Changes are assigned to a different saved address within the customer’s account, adhering to status, carrier, and change limits rules.
• Order details, including prices, shipping costs, taxes, and totals, remain unchanged.
• The previous address remains untouched in the database, ensuring that documents and bookkeeping related to the original address remain accurate.
• Server-side enforcement ensures that changes are made only in pre-fulfillment statuses: awaiting payment, payment accepted, processing, and paid or unpaid back-orders.
• A fresh installation permits changes only in pre-fulfillment statuses, providing a safe default setup.
• The module replaces the traditional theme address boxes with a single block containing both the delivery and billing addresses, accessible via a Manage addresses button.
• Customers can add new addresses directly from the pop-up, ensuring that all changes are verified and owned by the customer.
• Notifications are sent to both the customer and the merchant upon each change, with options to customize the email content and recipient.
• Once an invoice is created, the billing address cannot be changed, and the delivery address is locked once the order has a tracking number or is shipped.
• Customizable carrier rules can be applied to restrict or allow delivery address changes based on carrier type, such as pickup locations.
• The module provides an append-only audit trail of every change, including the order reference, the old and new addresses, the user who made the change, and the timestamp.
