About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing fresh installations and configurations of Oracle Database on various operating systems. They will configure database parameters, memory structures, and implement robust backup and recovery strategies. Additionally, they will monitor database performance using tools like AWR, ADDM, ASH, and OEM, and resolve performance bottlenecks. They will also configure and manage Oracle Advanced Security options and Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fresh installations and configurations of Oracle Database on various operating systems.
  • Configure database parameters, memory structures, and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance using tools like AWR, ADDM, ASH, and OEM, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Configure and manage Oracle Advanced Security options and Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Work within Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments, utilizing command-line interfaces.
  • Contribute to policies and procedures to ensure database security and integrity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Oracle Database installation and configuration.
  • 3+ years of experience in database parameter tuning, memory structure management, and backup strategy development.
  • 3+ years of experience in database performance monitoring and bottleneck resolution using tools such as AWR, ADDM, ASH, and OEM.
  • 3+ years of experience configuring and managing Oracle Advanced Security and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments, including command-line usage.
  • A Secret clearance, HS diploma or GED, and CompTIA Security+ Certification are required.
