About the role
The Senior Oracle Cloud Financials Solution Architect plays a key role in IBM Consulting’s growing Oracle ERP practice. This position requires a leader who can architect solutions, drive project success, and contribute to practice growth by maximizing sales opportunities. Responsibilities
- Support client engagements by providing subject matter expertise in Oracle Cloud Financials implementations.
- Assume accountability for solution design and successful implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP projects, including hands-on development, design, and prototyping as needed.
- Ensure proposed solutions meet client requirements, are architecturally complete, and quantify architectural risks.
- Align solutions with IBM’s portfolio offerings to drive profitable revenue growth.
- Evaluate client solution requirements and support the management and traceability of requirements during engagements.
- Review customer processes and design industry-specific solutions based on best practices.
- Act as a technical interface to clients and proactively develop business opportunities.
- Lead implementation teams in testing cycles, including developing testing scenarios, cases, and scripts.
- Implement quality solutions that meet requirements and advise clients on IBM offerings, strategy, and tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide input on project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Identify opportunities for new or follow-on business and assist in creating change orders.
- Provide thought leadership to grow the Oracle ERP practice.
- Participate in strategic planning, business case development, and client presentations.
- Manage solution proposals, including design, review, risk analysis, and client presentations.
- Provide technical oversight for estimates using standard tools, work breakdown structures, and industry techniques.
- Proactively develop business opportunities, including presales activities like architectural demos and proposal development.
- Maintain knowledge of technologies, industry trends, standards, and design techniques.
Requirements
- 10+ years of ERP implementation experience.
- Senior Solution Architect role on at least 2 full lifecycle Oracle Cloud implementation projects in the USA.
- Public sector (city/state/local/county government) experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of GASB Accounting and Reporting, Encumbrance Accounting, Fund Accounting, Projects, and Grants Accounting and Management.
- Hands-on experience designing and building modular, scalable, testable enterprise systems in Oracle Cloud Financials.
- Exposure to other Oracle Cloud modules (e.g., Supply Chain, HCM) is ideal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment with minimal supervision while collaborating as a team member.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage technical peers and executive management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to adapt quickly to new projects and work on multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Oracle Cloud Applications, including configuration, customization, and integration.
- Experience designing multi-platform technical solutions with seamless integration.
- Familiarity with quality, performance, availability, and security standards for Oracle Applications.
