About the role
Participates in the development, implementation, and coordination of the assigned Operating Room service line. Meets the orientation, continuing educational needs, and competency development of nursing/tech personnel within the specialty area. Serves as a clinical consultant in the area of specialty and acts as a liaison between CaroMont Health Peri-operative Services, service line surgeons, and specialty vendors. Provides clinical practice leadership to foster patient safety and an excellent patient experience. Works collaboratively with OR assistant managers to meet and maintain department quality metrics. Assists with planning and carrying out special hospital and community programs as required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and coordinate the Operating Room service line.
- Address orientation, continuing education, and competency development for nursing and tech personnel in the specialty area.
- Serve as a clinical consultant in the area of specialty.
- Act as a liaison between CaroMont Health Peri-operative Services, service line surgeons, and specialty vendors.
- Provide clinical practice leadership to ensure patient safety and an excellent patient experience.
- Collaborate with OR assistant managers to meet and maintain department quality metrics.
- Assist in planning and executing special hospital and community programs.
Requirements
- Current RN license to practice in NC (NC license or multi-state (compact) license).
- At least 12 months of operating room and/or nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
- Thorough knowledge of general nursing principles, methods, and techniques with expertise in OR nursing practice.
- Maintains current BCLS certification.
Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university.
- CNOR certification (required within 18 months of hire).
