About the role
The role of OR/PACU RN Per Diem at Fertility Centers of Illinois in River North, Illinois provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.
Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
- Performs initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
- Provides comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
- Demonstrates proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
- Administers medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
- Provides patient education
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- 2 to 3 years of clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
- Able to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Able to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
- Able to communicate accurately and concisely
