About the role

A community health center is seeking an Optometrist to join an established eye care program and provide comprehensive optometry services in a mission-driven, patient-centered setting. This position will primarily support a newer West Bank vision center (approximately 3 miles from New Orleans proper) and will work collaboratively with clinic leadership and support staff to deliver high-quality care to the community.

Responsibilities

• Support a newer West Bank vision center (approximately 3 miles from New Orleans proper)
• Work collaboratively with clinic leadership and support staff to deliver high-quality care to the community
• Primary focus on routine exams (glasses and contact lenses) and medical visits (e.g., glaucoma management, eyelid growths, conjunctivitis/pink eye, and related concerns)
• Opportunity to perform procedures consistent with your training and comfort; refer to specialists when outside scope
• Collaborate with an experienced, longstanding lead optometrist within the program

Requirements

• Current Louisiana Optometry license
• Experience in providing comprehensive optometry services
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program
• Passing score on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Part I and II
• Completion of an approved residency program in optometry

Pay

$135,000.00 - $145,000.00

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch. No call / no weekends.
