About the role
At our full-scope private practice, we are committed to providing thorough, personalized eye care while taking the time to make sure every patient understands their eye health and treatment options. We provide comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, and other services within the full scope of optometry.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye exams
- Manage ocular disease
- Treat dry eye
- Fit specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses
- Provide other services within your scope of practice
- Educate patients about their treatment options and make appropriate recommendations when additional products or services may benefit their eye health
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Valid Virginia license to practice optometry (or eligibility to obtain)
- New graduates and current 4th year Optometry students are welcome to apply
- Strong clinical knowledge with an interest in full-scope primary care optometry
- Efficient and organized approach to patient care and chart completion
- Friendly, personable demeanor with a genuine commitment to treating patients with kindness and respect

Schedule
Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
We believe in maintaining a strong work-life balance with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends required.
We have an office in Wise, VA. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working at both locations, with the possibility of rotating to the alternate location one day per week. However, there is flexibility for a clinician who prefers to work exclusively at the Bristol or Wise location so it is NOT a requirement to work at both locations.
Bristol typically allows approximately 30 minutes per comprehensive exam, with occasional quick follow-up visits.

Location
With offices in Bristol and Wise, you'll have the opportunity to practice optometry in Southwest Virginia while enjoying a close-knit community atmosphere. Both locations provide an opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and become a trusted part of their healthcare experience.
The practice serves a diverse patient population, with the typical patient ranging from approximately 40–70 years old, while welcoming patients as young as 6 months. You'll have the opportunity to work with a broad range of patients and conditions while practicing comprehensive optometry.
