Optometrist – Full-Time – Full-Scope Private Practice – Wise, VA (No Weekends!) (135 Plaza Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293, USA)

About the Role

We are a full-scope private practice committed to providing thorough, personalized eye care. We offer comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including diagnosis and management of ocular disease, dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, and other services within the full scope of optometry.

This position allows you to practice comprehensive optometry in a supportive environment where patient care is the priority. You will provide comprehensive eye exams, manage ocular disease, treat dry eye, fit specialty contact lenses (including scleral lenses), and educate patients about their treatment options.

• Digital Slit Lamp
• siCloud Pro EHR

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages
• Diagnose and manage ocular disease
• Treat dry eye and fit specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses
• Educate patients about their eye health, treatment options, and recommendations
• Utilize modern diagnostic technology for thorough patient assessments
• Maintain organized and efficient patient care and chart completion

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
• Valid Virginia license to practice optometry (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong clinical knowledge with an interest in full-scope primary care optometry
• Efficient and organized approach to patient care
• Friendly, personable demeanor with a commitment to treating patients with kindness and respect

Schedule

Full-time position with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends required.

Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM

The practice has locations in Wise and Bristol, VA. While the ideal candidate would be comfortable working at both locations (with the possibility of rotating one day per week), there is flexibility to work exclusively at one location.

Patient scheduling is generally every 15 minutes, with flexibility to reduce the pace at the Wise location to approximately two patients per hour if preferred.
