Optometric Technician

About the Role

The Optometric Technician at Target Optical, part of EssilorLuxottica, plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a seamless experience. This position bridges the gap between optometric services and retail operations, contributing to the store's key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and courteously, both in person and over the phone.
• Assist optometrists during eye examinations by obtaining medical history, performing pre-examination tests, and explaining measurements to patients.
• Handle patient records efficiently and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage appointment scheduling, confirmation calls, and follow-ups for no-shows.
• Maintain and organize the contact lens room, ensuring no expired products.
• Input patient data, insurance information, and eye care services into the CIAO system accurately.
• Support visual merchandising in exam areas and maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide clinical support to optometrists, including equipment disinfection and inventory management.
• Offer guidance to patients on contact lens care and handling.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of strong customer service experience.
• Leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of office procedures and basic math skills.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Experience in retail, optical, or healthcare settings.

Pay

$23.04 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors such as geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. May include a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
