Generous pay with monthly bonus opportunitiesPTO and paid holidaysCareer growth within your practice and the regionMedical, dental, vision insurance, 401K & more Position Overview Adventure Dental, Vision and Orthodontics in Kansas City, KS are currently seeking an Optometric Assistant to administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, and help with eyewear fittings. This position will report to the Lead Optometric Assistant. Pay range: $15.75-$20/hr Job Responsibilities Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentationCall patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recallsSupport optometrists during eye exams by preparing patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording resultsAccompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glassesPerform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation dropsHelp patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptionsProcess patient payments during check-in and check-outEnsure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children Job Qualifications Previous experience in a vision practice is a plusAbility to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasksStrong communication skillsProficiency in EHR systemsAbility to train and lead a team of Optometric AssistantsAbility to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on timePreferred knowledge of optometric online software/database, Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet softwareBilingual a plus In addition to the job description, you will be asked to perform other duties that support the business and our mission.
