Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of in-process and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform receiving, material handling, and storage of aerospace hardware in accordance with applicable work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Execute shipping and receiving activities, including documentation, labeling, packaging, and shipment tracking.
  • Support Ammunition & Energetics (A&E) handling, storage, and transport in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with property management activities, maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting audits and physical counts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records using company systems (e.g., travelers, checklists, shop floor control systems, shipping and property documentation).
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; perform typical warehouse and logistics tasks including pallet packing and driving product between facilities.
  • Kit parts and materials to traveler and work order requirements, ensuring accurate counts, correct configurations, and proper documentation prior to issuance.
  • Issue kitted materials to the production floor in accordance with work orders and build schedules; coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.
  • Support facility operations and maintenance, including tooling and test equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Follow all safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and environmental regulations; work in controlled areas when required.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operations policies and procedures.
  • Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives within the production team.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
  • May require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing required PPE.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet production schedules.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or precision assembly manufacturing.
  • Experience: Experience handling hardware in accordance with specific work instructions and recording progress in a disciplined and consistent manner.
  • Experience: Experience partnering with program managers, schedulers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and supply chain/operations teams to meet program objectives.
  • Education: Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Education: Preferred: Associate degree or vocational training in manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or mechanical technology.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret work instructions, travelers, and engineering drawings.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
  • Skills: Ability to multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Skills: Proven critical thinking ability: ability to recognize potential problems and seek supervisory direction prior to placing hardware at risk.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or shop floor control systems.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Prior experience working in a high-reliability or safety-critical manufacturing environment (aerospace, defense, or propulsion).
  • Preferred: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T preferred).
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Preferred: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent shop floor systems).
  • Preferred: Prior experience with government inventory reporting and transaction systems such as WAWF (Wide Area WorkFlow) or PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment); applicable to candidates transitioning from military S4/supply roles or defense contractor inventory positions.
  • Preferred: Ability to transport energetic materials over the road (CDL preferred).
  • Preferred: Familiarity with A&E handling protocols and safety requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AS9100, DCMA, and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs, including Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Holds a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Energetic material safety training or certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
