About the role
The Logistics Specialist Level II plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials within the organization and to external partners. This position is responsible for coordinating complex logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation scheduling, and supply chain optimization. The specialist will analyze logistical data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Collaboration with vendors, carriers, and internal departments is essential to maintain seamless communication and resolve any issues that arise during the shipping and receiving processes. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's overall service delivery by maintaining a reliable and responsive logistics framework.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily logistics operations including shipment scheduling, tracking, and delivery confirmation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to shipping, customs, and compliance requirements.
- Resolve logistical issues such as delays, damages, or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the implementation of logistics software and technology to enhance operational workflows.
- Aid in developing and maintaining relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
- Proficiency with logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of customs regulations and international shipping procedures.
- Certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Associate (CLA).
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
