Ophthalmologist, Uveitis specialist
About the role
Join the established Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor Scott & White Healthcare, Central Texas. Team includes: 13 Ophthalmologists / 6 Optometrists. Busy schedules Monday-Friday; dedicated time for clinic, procedures, and laser. Possible bi-weekly time at satellite clinic (22 mile distance). Option to perform cataract surgery available but not mandatory. Call: 4 weeks per year. Employed position with a comprehensive benefit package. Epic EMR system with Kaleidoscope for Eyes; Zeiss Forum for image management. Participate in education with a well-established Ophthalmology Residency Program as well as medical students through Baylor College of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Perform ophthalmic procedures including cataract surgery (optional)
- Manage a busy schedule with dedicated time for clinic, procedures, and laser
- Contribute to the educational mission by participating in residencies and medical student programs
- Work collaboratively with a team of 13 Ophthalmologists and 6 Optometrists
- Occasional call coverage of 4 weeks per year
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree in Medicine
- Uveitis Fellowship training
- Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
- Board Certified or Board Eligible with the American Board of Ophthalmology
Qualifications
- Experience in ophthalmic procedures, particularly cataract surgery
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
