About the role
The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full-time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Imager 3 in Naples, Florida.
Job Functions
- Performs diagnostic testing including color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, optical coherence tomography, a-scan biometry and IOL Master, keratometry, slit lamp photography, goño photography, external photography, ocular motility photography, automated & manual perimetry.
- Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty-specific imaging instruments, documents procedures, and uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.
- Provides patient-centric care.
- Adheres to University of Miami policies, standards, and values.
- Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Fulfills best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.
- Completes the University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.
- Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
- Maintains OPS certifications.
- Supports residents, fellows, and faculty members with imaging presentations.
- Participates in the evaluation process for demo and pilot devices.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification and Licensing: OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography), CRA (Certified Retinal Angiographer).
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge, Skill, and Attitudes: Works well with patients of all age groups, presents a professional appearance, communicates effectively, analyzes, organizes, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment, completes assignments accurately and with attention to detail, seeks out instruction in areas that require additional knowledge, works independently and in a collaborative environment, demonstrates advanced knowledge of ocular anatomy, function, and motility, demonstrates Intermediate comprehension of refractometry, identifies imaging instruments and modalities based on diagnosis, knowledgeable in computer software for all imaging modalities, expert in performing standardized imaging protocols based on diagnosis, proficient in stereopsis technique, proficient in Microsoft Office.
