About the role
The University of Miami is seeking an Ophthalmic Imager 1 with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Core Job Functions
- Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty specific imaging instruments, document procedures, and upload images in the electronic medical record.
- Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography, optical coherence tomography, automated perimetry, slit lamp photography, external photography, ocular motility photography.
- Provides patient-centric care.
- Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Fulfills patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control best practices.
- Completes University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.
- Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
- Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications.
- Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.
- Mets daily productivity goals.
- Performs organization duties as designated.
- Safeguards all equipment and ensures instrumentation is in proper working order.
- Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification and Licensing: Basic Life Support (BLS), OCT-C (Certified Optical Coherence Tomography) or COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant)
- Experience: Minimum 1 Year Of Relevant Experience
- Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure, ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines, commitment to the University’s core values
