Ophthalmic Assistant
About the role
Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider. Assist the physician with procedures and care of the patient. Collect subjective and objective ophthalmic data from the patient or caregiver and communicate this data to the doctor.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary screening examinations and/or tests to facilitate diagnosis and treatment by the provider.
- Absorb and communicate subjective and objective ophthalmic data from the patient or caregiver to the doctor.
- Aid the physician with procedures and care of the patient.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Will provide training and education for required skills.
- Previous health care experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, and/or optical office is preferred.
- A Basic Life Support Certification is required.
Qualifications
- A high school graduate is preferred.
- Previous health care experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, and/or optical office preferred.

Skills
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caregivers.
- Basic medical knowledge and understanding of patient care protocols.

Pay
$18.00 - $26.50 per hour
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
