Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Collect all pertinent medical information needed for the clinician’s medical decision making.
  • Point person for the Provider’s patients, facilities, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Responsible for processing physician orders after each appointment.
  • Scheduling appointments.
  • Verify patient information/insurance verification.
  • Room patients, collection of vital signs, prepare patients for examination.
  • Phone/Fax/Electronically send prescriptions and refills to pharmacy.
  • Document patient notes in EMR.
  • Answer phones, receive and send faxes, check patients in and out.
  • Requesting medical records.
  • Documenting all calls utilizing a easy to use medical software.
  • Reviewing incoming messages inbox, assigning faxes and attachments and distribute/assign to the appropriate provider throughout the day.
  • Able to develop strong rapport and communication skills over the phone.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and all HIPAA privacy requirement.
  • Attends required meetings and in-service.
  • Able to adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong customer service.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • At least two years of medical office experience
  • Basic working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills with excellent problem solving skills
  • Professional demeanor, self-motivated, and dependable
  • Able to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment, and work well under pressure
  • Strong phone communication skills
