About the role
The OpEx Technician I (Operational Excellence Technician I) is responsible for implementing identified continuous improvement action items across the manufacturing floor. This role supports Kaizen events, lean transformation, and collaborates with production teams to implement workstation improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Kaizen workshops focused on process optimization, waste elimination, and operational efficiency.
- Build and commission ergonomic and efficient production workstations using lean principles.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements that support standardized work and reduce waste.
- Work with production teams to collect data and identify operational problems and bottlenecks leveraging Lean tools.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and improve quality.
- Ensure that successful improvements are documented, standardized, and sustained across production lines.
- Collaborate with frontline workers to participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute ideas for workstation and process enhancements.
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, safety, and quality teams to ensure workstation designs meet operational and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency with MS office tools: Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
- Experience with CAD tools, workstation design software, and 3D printing.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong spatial reasoning skills.
Pay
Base Compensation: $23.50 - $26.50 per hour depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
