About the role
As OpEx Technician I, your role is a Tier II team member on the shop floor, linking Engineering with Manufacturing, and driving continuous improvement of: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Provide technical support in the assigned area. Support and lead continuous improvement through: Kaizen events, special project work, engineering change orders. Reporting directly to the Mfg Engineering Manager, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the training of production employees of new processes or equipment.
- Create and maintain work instructions to assist assembly and/or fabrication operators.
- Support and lead continuous improvement through: Kaizen events, special project work, engineering change orders.
- Validate manufacturing bills of materials (BOM) for accuracy.
- Identify waste in the manufacturing process and recommend methods to reduce.
- Assist line operators with tooling and replace as necessary to ensure repeatable production of quality product.
- Support the daily production of Assembly/Fabrication.
- Conduct time studies and balancing of manufacturing processes.
- Aid in process improvements.
- Assist with the installation and qualification of new machinery and/or work cells.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: 1 - 2 years of Manufacturing Experience or Technical Degree
- Technical Degree (Industrial, Mechanical, or CAD) preferred but not required
- Skills & Abilities:
- Microsoft Excel knowledge is required. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications a plus.
- General electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, specifically 5S.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- AutoCAD or similar software knowledge is preferred for Fabrication.
- Knowledge of CNC is required for Fabrication.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Microsoft Excel knowledge is required. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications a plus.
