Operator - Stores
About the role
An opportunity is available for an Operator (Stores) to join the team based at Worcester depot. This role is for a yard operative that will be split between Banbury and Evesham yards, so the ideal candidate should live locally to either location.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair ancillary items such as spiking guns, ladders, portable gas equipment, test equipment, and test bushings.
- Complete bench testing of CT metering equipment and PAT testing of electrical appliances around the depot.
- Assist other operatives in maintaining the stock inventory within the local stores at Worcester, take in deliveries, and issue items to customers.
- Assist field-based teams on site when required.
- Manage depot facilities and coordinate maintenance and repair works with suppliers to ensure smooth operation.
- React quickly, decisively, and responsibly in a safety-critical environment.
Requirements
- Hold English & Maths GCSE (grades 1-9/G-A*) or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Functional Skills). Evidence of qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
- Ability to work on your own initiative in a safety-critical environment.
- Valid driving license, as mobility throughout the area is required.
- Live within approximately 40 minutes of the depot.
- Subject to a satisfactory DBS (Barring Service) check.
Qualifications & Skills
- Accredited Fork Lift truck training and certification (preferred).
- Electrical experience (advantageous).
