Responsibilities
- Package finished product to specification under the direction of the production lead, Team Leader, or Packaging Technician.
- Hook up, fill, and label supersacks in a centered position on each pallet so they correctly pass through a sizing curtain before storage.
- Coordinate with other Packers and Packaging Technicians to ensure efficient performance of the packaging process.
- Perform sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe work area and environment at all times.
- Comply with all safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the Team Leader.
- Maintain any required logs.
- Safely operate heavy material handling equipment such as fillers and electric pallet jacks.
- Load slip sheets into packaging equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; up to three months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers and decimals).
- Ability to retrieve data from a computer HMI (Human Machine Interface).
- Ability to multitask and operate two fillers simultaneously.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially food production, is helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective communication in English.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, occasionally climb ladders or other elevated structures, perform frequent above‑shoulder work, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of filled supersacks using approximately 50 lb of force; occasional tandem lift up to 80 lb; regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work in dusty conditions with possible exposure to airborne particles that may cause minor skin and eye irritation.
- Ability to work safely near moving mechanical parts and forklifts; occasional work in high precarious places.
- Personal hygiene must meet company and government sanitation requirements.

Pay
Hourly rate: $22.41
