Operator II - Water and Sewer Division

About the role

The Town of Danvers welcomes applicants for the Water & Sewer division Operator II position. This position operates specialized equipment where primary responsibility is to operate assigned equipment while performing construction and maintenance tasks throughout highways, water and sewer systems, buildings, grounds and other Town properties. The Town is willing to consider an entry level position through its Pathway Program. The Pathway Program allows the Town to hire an entry-level position (Laborer) with the ability to train and educate that employee and progress them to the Operator I position and into the Operator II position with the Water & Sewer division. A Pathway hire will have 24 months to meet the minimum qualifications for the Operator I position, then another 18 months to meet the minimum qualifications for the Operator II position.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned specialized equipment.
• Perform construction and maintenance tasks on highways, water and sewer systems, buildings, grounds, and other Town properties.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade School Diploma.
• 2-3 years of experience in water and sewer related areas, including operation of Hoisting License.
• Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsements.
• Minimum of a 2B Hoisting License.

Pay

Union pay scale. Starting rates:

• Laborer: $24.8911 per hour (max $28.9535 per hour).
• Operator I: $25.6072 per hour (max $29.2117 per hour).
• Operator II: $28.1668 per hour (max $32.3936 per hour).

Schedule

40 hours weekly, Mondays – Fridays, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
