Die Cutter Operator role focused on safe setup and operation of die cutting equipment, ensuring adherence to safety policies, production standards, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate designated die cutting machine.
- Use proper personal protective equipment required for job duties.
- Work as a team to achieve departmental goals in safety, quality, and efficient operation.
- Assist in training new team members on equipment and processes.
- Read and understand order schedules and work orders, including specifications.
- Maintain accurate production reporting.
- Perform pre-start inspections of machines and materials to ensure safe operation.
- Perform quality checks and make machine adjustments during startup.
- Plan and prepare materials needed for production.
- Perform periodic visual quality checks and adjust the die to ensure zero defects.
- Perform sampling and quality checking throughout production runs.
- Maintain daily and periodic cleaning of machines and department to uphold 5S and GMP/SQF standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools to prevent premature wear.
- Observe and recommend improvements regarding safety, quality, waste, and production efficiency.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and grow in a manufacturing setting.
- Positive attitude throughout training and learning processes.
- English-speaking or bilingual (Spanish is a plus but not required).
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Reliable, motivated, and committed to following safety and quality standards.
- High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
- Color matching and numerical accuracy.
- Organizational skills and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours).
- Mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of industry color measurement instruments.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical information and procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and mechanical skills.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proactive with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
