About the role

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking an Operator to join their team. The Operator will be responsible for the tube mill operations and equipment to ensure continuous operation during the 1swt shift from Monday to Friday, 5:00am - 3:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Safety, quality, priorities above all
• Focus on keeping the mill operational
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
• Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
• TPM of process and equipment in the area
• Cook daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
• Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
• Minimize scrap
• Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED Equivalent
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Experience in using special measuring devices, micrometer, calipers, tape measure
• Must be able to read set up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them to roll tooling adjustments
• Change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
• Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling
• Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
• Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
• Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
• Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities

This role is located in Tulsa, OK.

The role requires a combination of technical skills and soft skills. Specific skills include:

• Knowledge of special measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers
• Ability to read and interpret set up charts
• Proficiency in changing out cut-off jaws, blades, and refilling oil levels
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
