About the role

You will be a key player on our manufacturing team, mainly involved in the production of powdered nutritional supplement ingredients. The ideal candidate would be skilled in all areas of production and machinery, including blenders, grinders, hot water systems, furnaces, racks, and air collection.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing:
    • Comprehend Batch Formulation Sheets (BFS) and add water as specified by the water meter on the faucet.
    • Verify temperatures to ensure water is within the proper range.
    • Add ingredients and sign off on each ingredient.
    • Properly identify, weigh, and confirm dry ingredients against the BFS during production.
  • Discharge:
    • Ensure paper for racks is cut to appropriate lengths and review BFS to determine if paper needs spraying.
    • Ensure paddles and equipment are clean and that product is discharged properly.
    • Correctly identify each set of racks with the lot and product number.
    • Clean blenders completely.
  • Drying:
    • Place product in available rooms and minimize oven space by arranging product efficiently.
  • Grinding:
    • Verify information per BFS and proficiently use a forklift.
    • Set up the grinder and specified mesh screen properly per product.
    • Prepare containers for shipping and properly label product in each drum.
    • Grind product, pull samples for tracking and analysis, weigh and record drums on BFS (verify), and clean the grinder properly.
  • Cleaning & Maintenance:
    • Assist in daily clean-up and routine maintenance of equipment according to training.
    • Complete cleaning logs for each operation and piece of equipment.
    • Maintain plant compliance with health department regulations at all times to avoid citations/penalties during routine unannounced inspections.
  • Weighing:
    • Review completed BFS, weigh and verify product, and identify raw materials by ingredient name.
    • Assign lot numbers and ensure accuracy in weighing and verification of each other’s work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of basic math functions and varying units of measurement, with the ability to use scales and understand values.

Physical Demand

  • This is a hands-on physical role requiring the ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Operates primarily in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Exposure to conditions commonly associated with an industrial manufacturing facility, including:
    • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
    • Moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection may be required in designated areas.
    • Exposure to dust, powders, odors, chemicals, and/or other materials used in the manufacturing process.
    • Work in areas where temperatures may vary based on season, production processes, and equipment operation.
    • Frequent interaction with production equipment, material-handling equipment, and forklift traffic.
  • Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing, respirators, or other PPE depending on the work area and assigned tasks.
  • Work may require extended periods of standing and walking on concrete or other hard surfaces.
  • Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Attention to safety, quality, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards at all times is required.
  • May be required to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules based on production and business needs.
