About the role
The Operator 2 is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring high-speed bakery production lines to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with food safety, GMP, and health standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor a high-speed continuous donut/bread production line.
- Communicate effectively and organize work with sound judgment and discretion.
- Prepare, operate, and monitor production line equipment.
- Maintain ongoing communication with team members throughout the shift to ensure process continuity and quality standards.
- Keep adequate stock of raw materials on the line at all times.
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and quality standards on the production floor.
- Ensure sensors and guides are correctly aligned.
- Verify power supply and confirm emergency stop buttons are functioning.
- Examine belts, rollers, and other moving components for signs of wear or damage.
- Check ingredient feed levels and confirm settings are accurate.
- Review temperature and timing parameters for compliance with standards.
- Confirm raw materials meet required specifications.
- Immediately inform the Shift Supervisor of any major issues.
- Record the problem and corrective actions in the production log.
- If the issue persists, escalate to the Maintenance team.
- Operate pallet jack to move products as needed.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by sharing ideas with management and actively participating in AOE pillar activities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficient in using computers and navigating operating screens.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet production demands.
- Knowledge of GMP standards and commitment to safety.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication in English (verbal and written).
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a fast-paced production or packing environment is preferred.
