Essential Duties

  • Follows scheduled routine for Operation rounds and mechanical checks.
  • Maintains familiarity with all aspects of Operations including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Visually monitors water quality in habitats and aquarium systems.
  • Assists with maintenance animal life support systems (LSS).
  • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of the safe and proper use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment used in daily activities.
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment including office space.
  • Assists in the fabrication and repair of exhibits.
  • Assists with the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of major plant equipment.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license.
  • Fosters good relations with visitors, volunteers, community leaders, contractors, and fellow staff members by promoting positive attitudes, goodwill, cooperation, and providing high standards of service.
  • Complies with all Alaska SeaLife Center policies, procedures, and programs.

Other Duties

  • May be asked to assist with operation of pickup based snow plow.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range

  • $20.35-$25.03(1)
  • $23.65-$29.15(2)
  • $27.23-$34.64(3)
