Operations Support Specialist
About the role
This role provides onsite support for vendor demonstration operations as part of a significant and complex airspace modernization initiative. We are looking for someone with proven success in managing logistical details and engaging with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Location Details
This role is onsite 5 days/week at the FAA Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for demonstration activities, translating leadership direction into execution and supporting continuity, responsiveness, and momentum onsite
- Provide direct administrative and logistical support to the Lead Demonstrations Coordinator, supporting planning, strategy, and stakeholder engagement
- Work with limited supervision as part of the program management team
- Facilitate connections across all initiative-related efforts onsite at WJHTC
- Execute demonstration plans and ensure activities run smoothly and on schedule
- Maintain oversight of onsite conditions, risks, and dependencies and escalate as needed
- Ensure clear and consistent communication across WHJTC staff, initiative technical teams, and vendors
- Support the initiative evaluation team
- Assist with communications, meeting coordination, and summaries to maintain alignment and progress across demonstration efforts
- Capture and synthesize key discussions, decisions, and action items
- Support space planning, scheduling, and equipment logistics
- Coordinate vendors move-in/move-out and demonstration readiness
- Facilitate vendor and visitor access to the WJHTC, including badging and entry processes
- Ensure all access aligns with established FAA procedures and security protocols
- Provide day-to-day support to vendors and demonstration participants
- Resolve onsite logistics issues in coordination with facility staff and vendors
- Contribute to project reports
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts/ Science Degree with 5 years related experience, or an Associate of Arts/ Science Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 15 years of related experience.
- Experience in business/ financial operations, scheduling or implementation of strategic business initiatives that define/increase organizational effectiveness and efficiencies is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- In general, the ability to operate proactively – to anticipate where support is needed, to communicate with his or her manager about that need, and to follow-through
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong in formal, written, and verbal communications skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and follow-through.
- Experience in event or conference planning and logistics management.
- Ability to plan and manage logistics for in-person events.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, stakeholder groups, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience supporting or working within federal government program offices, ideally in environments requiring coordination across multiple agencies or stakeholder groups is a plus.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 (annualized USD).
