About the Department

The Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management prepares students to become skilled professionals and innovative leaders in operations and supply chain management. The department offers a concentration in Operations and Supply Chain Management, providing students with current knowledge, practical experience, and opportunities to develop essential analytical, technical, and leadership skills. This concentration prepares graduates to manage operations, logistics, sourcing, quality, and supply chain activities in complex global business environments.

About the Role

The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business of San José State University welcomes applications for part-time faculty appointments to teach courses in its undergraduate programs, should an opening arise, on its main campus in San José, California, or online.

Responsibilities

• Teach at the undergraduate or graduate level in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid) as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term.
• Hold weekly office hours.
• Create and evaluate student exams and assignments.
• Participate in faculty meetings and provide input on curriculum decisions.
• Organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Demonstrate awareness of and address the needs of a diverse student population through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

Requirements

• Master’s or higher degree relevant to the courses to be taught.
• At least three years of professional experience.
• Knowledge and experience in teaching.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, or comparable experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• College teaching experience.
• Relevant industry experience and established professional connections in the Silicon Valley region.

Pay

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. Monthly salary ranges for part-time faculty (prorated from full-time rates) are as follows:

• L-A / Range 2: $5,507 - $5,959
• L-B / Range 3: $6,221 - $7,481
• L-C / Range 4: $6,825 - $9,431
• L-D / Range 5: $8,593 - $10,347
