About the role
We seek a Staff Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position supports various programs within the Division, focusing on customer service, office management, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate office operations, including reception, waiting areas, and collaborative spaces.
- Manage purchasing and payment processes for Undergraduate Advising Services units.
- Schedule and supervise undergraduate and graduate student assistants.
- Respond to visitor inquiries and manage room and equipment reservations.
- Support administrative and logistical needs of units, including event coordination and project management.
- Prepare and oversee hiring paperwork for student staff, graduate students, and instructors.
- Assist with student employee hiring and compensation paperwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Two (2) full-time years of progressively responsible administrative experience
- Experience organizing and managing programming, events, and projects
- Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and/or Google applications
- Experience with purchasing, processing expenditures, and office management functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Project management experience
- Working knowledge with systems and database management
- Experience interacting with a diverse student population in an academic environment
- Supervisory experience (professional, student, or volunteer supervision of others)
