About the Role

The Operations Specialist supports grain and agronomy facility operations under the direction of the location supervisor and/or operations manager. This role ensures efficient facility operations, maintains grain quality, and handles agronomy products while promoting teamwork and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grain quality, including weighing, grading, probing, and bin designation
  • Perform general housekeeping to control dust levels
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Measure and track inventory of grain and agronomy products
  • Handle basic grain operations, including loading and unloading trucks and dumping grain
  • Assist with loading and unloading fertilizer and chemicals
  • Understand basic agronomy chemistry of products
  • Work in the fertilizer plant: mixing, loading trucks, reading work orders and maps
  • Operate and maintain agronomy load-out facilities
  • Operate equipment such as loaders and forklifts
  • Assist with mix schedules, prepare mixes to specifications, and account for inventory via tickets
  • Maintain seed and bulk treatment equipment
  • Complete and maintain driving and delivery records
  • Assist with distribution of seed, fertilizer, and CPP products to growers
  • Receive dry and liquid fertilizer
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relations
  • Enforce and abide by all cooperative policies, including credit policies
  • Communicate effectively with employees and customers
  • Assist other departments as needed before ending shifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agriculture background
  • Valid Driver License
  • Certificate to Grade Grain
  • Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain)
